About The Position

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Purchasing Manager to build, lead, and develop the Purchasing team. This role will be responsible for creating procurement solutions for a greenfield startup facility. Key responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating all purchasing activities, negotiating and enforcing Nucor’s commercial and legal contract terms and conditions, developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors/contractors, contributing to Nucor enterprise-wide purchasing efforts, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and coordinating with operating departments on cost savings and improved processes. Nucor Steel West Virginia is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill located in Mason County, WV.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
Prior leadership experience in purchasing or related field
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards
