About The Position

Plans, organizes, coordinates and supervises the purchase of supplies, materials, equipment and services for the City through a Centralized Purchasing Department and Warehouse Distribution Center. Purchasing Manager insures that all purchases are made in accordance with the state and federal laws and the Purchasing Policy.

Requirements

High School Diploma
6 years of state or local government purchasing experience.
Experience with all Microsoft Office products required.
Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license required.
Knowledge of current state and local government purchasing laws.
Knowledge of Warehouse operations and procedures.
Knowledge of Microsoft products, Incode purchasing and Warehouse modules.
Knowledge of Warehouse Stock Items for Public Works projects and various City projects.
Skill in the use of computer, word processing, spreadsheet software applications, technical writing and ability to communicate effectively and efficiently on a professional level including public speaking.
Ability to type 40 WPM accurately.
Ability to demonstrate excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills

Nice To Haves

Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in a Business-related field preferred.
Buyer Certification by NIGP or NPI required.
Officer certification by NIGP or NPI in governmental purchasing preferred.
