About The Position

Flair Airlines is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Analyst to join their Buy on Board team. This role is responsible for purchasing activities, demand forecasting, stock planning, and performance analysis for onboard retail products, catering supplies, and operational equipment across the network. The Purchasing & Inventory Analyst will analyze product performance, forecast demand, execute purchasing activities, coordinate inter-station transfers, and develop dashboards and reports to support planning and purchasing decisions. This role is crucial for maintaining product availability, reducing waste and stock shortages, improving purchasing decisions, and enhancing operational efficiency and cost control. This is an on-site position based at the Toronto, ON office.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, inventory planning, supply chain, procurement, logistics, or inventory analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience managing purchasing activities, inventory replenishment, demand forecasting, and supplier relationships.
  • Strong background analyzing purchasing and inventory data to support forecasting, inventory optimization, cost control, and operational decision-making.
  • Proven ability to develop dashboards, operational reports, and performance metrics using inventory management, ERP, or business intelligence systems.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience coordinating multiple suppliers and managing time-sensitive product deliveries.
  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.

  • Experience within the airline, catering, hospitality, retail, or another consumer-focused industry is considered an asset.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, Power Pivot, advanced formulas, and data visualization.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Strong understanding of inventory planning, demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply chain performance metrics.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to analyze purchasing costs, inventory valuation, margins, and operational performance.

  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, reliable, and auditable data.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate analytical findings and recommendations to operational leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with inventory management, purchasing, ERP, and business intelligence systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, purchase, and replenish onboard retail products, catering supplies, and operational equipment to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective flight operations.
  • Develop demand forecasts using historical sales, flight schedules, seasonal trends, promotional activity, and operational changes to optimize purchasing decisions, inventory levels, and product availability across the network.
  • Monitor inventory performance and optimize replenishment strategies to minimize spoilage, excess inventory, stock shortages, inventory carrying costs, and operational disruptions.
  • Coordinate inventory transfers between airport stations, catering facilities, and distribution locations to maintain product availability across the network.
  • Manage purchase orders, supplier deliveries, and inventory replenishment activities while maintaining effective supplier relationships and resolving purchasing or supply chain issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including delivery accuracy, service levels, product availability, and contractual compliance, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Perform inventory reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, coordinate physical inventory counts, and support inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, pricing, supplier, and product master data within inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and related business tools.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable customs, bonded inventory, liquor licensing, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve inventory, purchasing, and operational dashboards, reports, and business intelligence tools to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze purchasing, inventory, demand, consumption, spoilage, shrinkage, waste, supplier performance, and other operational data to identify trends, improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory investment, reduce costs, and enhance operational performance.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory accuracy, inventory turnover, product availability, forecast accuracy, supplier on-time delivery performance, purchase price variance (PPV), inventory shrinkage, product spoilage and waste, inventory carrying costs, and inventory replenishment performance.
  • Perform root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies, stock shortages, excess inventory, supplier performance issues, and operational disruptions, recommending corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc operational and executive dashboards, reports, and performance summaries, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to improve purchasing effectiveness, inventory performance, operational efficiency, and cost control.
  • Support budgeting, inventory valuation, financial forecasting, product lifecycle management, new product launches, menu transitions, promotional initiatives, and route expansions through quantitative analysis and performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Buy on Board, Onboard Product Manager, Catering Facility Logistics & Provision Manager, Finance, Procurement, Commercial, Airports, OCC, and third-party suppliers to support purchasing decisions, inventory optimization, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Buy on Board program.
  • Leverage inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and business intelligence tools to automate reporting, improve data integrity, enhance inventory visibility, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
