The Purchasing Intern participates in the Omni Care Internship Program, gaining hands-on experience in purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and vendor relations within a hotel environment. College seniors may be eligible for the Leader in Development (LID) Program based on performance.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college, university, or vocational program in Business, Hospitality Management, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous office, hospitality, or inventory experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing purchase orders and monitoring order status to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Support the Purchasing Department by maintaining accurate records, filing documents, and updating purchasing databases.
  • Assist in reviewing invoices, packing slips, and receiving documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules as directed.
  • Help track outstanding orders and follow up with vendors on delayed shipments.
  • Assist with inventory counts and inventory control projects as assigned.
  • Support month-end inventory and purchasing audits.
  • Organize and maintain purchasing files, contracts, and supplier documentation.
  • Assist in researching products, obtaining quotes, and comparing pricing from approved vendors.
  • Work closely with the purchasing staff to ensure proper documentation and inventory procedures are followed.
  • Participate in special projects and administrative tasks to support the Purchasing Department.
