Purchasing Intern (Year-Round)

About The Position

Valeo is a global tech company focused on designing innovative solutions for reinventing mobility. As a Purchasing Intern, you will support the Purchasing team by managing quotes, rescheduling, and placing purchase orders, as well as assisting with transition planning for commodities. You will be responsible for creating purchase orders, spot buy purchase orders, and reviewing various reports such as overstock, open orders, and expedite reports. This internship offers practical experience in purchasing and contributes to the efficiency of procurement operations. The ideal candidate is a student pursuing a Business Degree or related field, available to work year-round, part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer.

Requirements

Currently a student enrolled in courses working toward a Business Degree or related field.
Available to start as soon as possible.
Available to work year-round on a part-time basis throughout the school year pending class schedule, then full-time throughout the summer.

Responsibilities

Assist the Purchasing team with sending quotes, rescheduling, and purchasing order placement.
Perform transition planning for commodities.
Create purchase orders and spot buy purchase orders.
Review overstock reports, open orders, and expedite reports.
Create new PO's and spot buy PO's.
Work with Project buyers to secure material for Design Validation and Project Validation builds.
Attend supplier meetings and take meeting minutes.
Support sourcing activities by sending Request for Quotation (RFQ) and requirements to suppliers.
Create sourcing activities with Project Buyers.
Pull and analyze data.
Identify issues that need to be addressed by the reviewer.
