We believe in a sustainable future. We are looking to hire a Purchasing Development (PD) Leader for the Sourcing Global Commodities’ (SGC) Purchasing Development team. The SGC Purchasing Development team is a diverse, collaborative, global team of highly motivated professionals. We work across commodities and regions within purchasing to help translate business priorities and continuous improvements in strategy, compliance, processes, tools, and purchasing intelligence. Come learn, develop and grow with us! As a PD Leader, you will lead and execute strategic projects in the assigned PD focus areas from definition through implementation and adoption. You will work closely with the SGC organization, global purchasing development colleagues, and other stakeholders and partners to strengthen the execution and continuously improve how we work. Thanks to your high competence in managing relationships, you build strong networks and ecosystems that secure both stable and competitive operational performance as well as good understanding of the trends and needs of the future. This is a role for someone who can move comfortably between the big picture and the details: shaping direction, building alignment, creating structure, facilitating decisions, and staying engaged until the change is embedded and delivering value.

Requirements

MBA or similar post-degree preferred
3 years of purchasing experience
Fluent in English, an additional language is a plus
1-3 years experience in an international environment

Responsibilities

Lead and execute projects and assigned initiatives with full ownership for scope, plans, deliverables, risks, decisions and results.
Coordinate, prioritize and execute assigned Purchasing Development key focus activities in alignment with SGC and global purchasing priorities.
Support the development and deployment of sourcing strategies, including continuous improvement of the Sourcing Strategy process, toolbox, governance and adoption.
Translate strategic ambitions into practical roadmaps, milestones, measures, communication and follow-up.
Use data and business insights to improve transparency, support decisions, identify trends and measure progress.
Explore and responsibly apply digital solutions, automation and AI where they can solve real business needs and improve the user experience.
Build strong collaboration with commodity teams, regions, Aftermarket, Technology, Operations and other Volvo Group stakeholders.
Facilitate workshops and working sessions that create alignment, clarify roles and and move teams from discussion to action.
Highlight risks, opportunities, dependencies and resource needs early, and bring forward fact-based recommendations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Communicate clearly and effectively to support understanding, engagement, implementation and lasting adoption.
