About The Position

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a Purchasing Agent for their Purchasing Department. This role involves bidding on new projects, maintaining scopes of work, tracking blueprints and design changes, and managing option costs and sales prices. The company is a publicly traded Fortune 500 company founded in 1978, engaged in the construction and sale of high-quality homes, and also provides mortgage financing and title services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Solicit bids
• Pre-qualify subcontractors
• Setup and monitor option costs and sales prices
• Maintain and update current budgets
• Spread revised bids and obtain approval for any price increases
• Prepare direct costs analysis and variances for review
• Input original Direct Costs budget
• Execute lot starts and final proof all unit costs
