Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, economics, engineering, science, or other relevant. OR Minimum 2 years’ experience as a buyer or purchasing agent with responsibility for purchases of MRO preferred or one or more major raw material requirements
  • Experience in negotiations
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ownership and accountability

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Raw Material & Purchased Components Availability of MRO and some production components
  • Maintain steady and constant supply of raw materials, components, and finished goods to assure timely delivery of customer orders
  • Responsibility includes location, evaluation, and selecting sources of supply for both new and existing raw materials.
  • Obtain and ensure correct lead-time information from vendors
  • Execute Sourcing Strategy
  • Reduce product costs & control inventory levels.
  • Resolve quality problems when vendor is responsible, and initiate charge backs pertaining to cost of defective materials, added labor expended, impact of substitution, incoming freight costs, etc.
  • Recommend use of alternative or substitute materials where of value to drive cost and waste out of supply chain
  • Gain & Maintain Supplier Relationships
  • Visit vendor plants to ensure quality and production capabilities.
  • Research and investigate potential vendor companies.
  • Manage to ensure the best total landed price, quality, and delivery.
  • Maintain company’s reputation for integrity and fairness in all transactions with vendors, negotiating and performing value analysis on new and existing raw materials for management consideration
