About The Position

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for supporting business operations by ordering products or materials necessary for operations. This role will maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, place orders for products based on current inventory needs, and track shipments to the warehouse.

  • Resolving shipping errors.
  • Preparing and processing purchase orders.
  • Maintaining records of all transactions, purchases, orders, receipts, records, and inventories.
  • Collaborating with factory operations and warehousing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of supplier requirements and ensures all processes and procedures are followed.
  • Evaluates suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, reliability, and other criteria.
  • Interviews vendors and visits suppliers’ facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing.
  • Requests cost proposals and negotiates contracts and prices while working closely with the Company’s legal department to ensure contracts and terms are favorable.
  • Utilizes inventory tracking system to record stock levels and anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
  • Verifies purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products.
  • Interacts with suppliers to schedule delivery times, verify product is shipped according to deadlines, and resolve shipping errors.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and maintains records of all transactions, purchases, orders, receipts, records, and inventories.
  • Collaborate with factory operations and warehousing to ensure sufficient product levels are maintained.
