About The Position

JP Mascaro & Sons, a growing private family-owned company, is seeking a Purchasing Specialist for their Corporate Office in Audubon, PA. This role is crucial for managing procurement processes across multiple companies within the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing requisitions, coordinating with vendors, preparing purchase orders, evaluating suppliers, and maintaining procurement records. This is a full-time, onsite position with a focus on maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality in all purchases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong skills related to Microsoft Office software products, specifically excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with heavy duty on-road truck/trailer equipment, parts & services.
  • Familiarity with waste industry equipment, parts and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Review requisitions and quotes for accuracy.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain product availability, pricing, delivery schedule and terms.
  • Prepare purchase orders for multiple companies and issue to vendors as needed.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on the price, quality, and timeliness of delivery of their products and services.
  • Interview vendors and visit supplier facilities to examine and learn about products, services, and prices.
  • Attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences to learn about new industry trends and make contacts with suppliers.
  • Work out agreements with suppliers for shipping and deliveries.
  • Meet with vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
  • Evaluate and monitor contracts to be sure that vendors comply with the terms and conditions of the contract and to determine the need for changes.
  • Maintain and review records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
  • Special projects and other job duties as assigned.
