About The Position

The Punch Press Operator II is responsible for the production of fabricated and/or machined parts, focusing on operating fabrication equipment. This role involves setting up and operating punch presses and support equipment, including dies and shop equipment. The operator will also be responsible for material setup, shearing, deburring, sanding parts to size, and cleaning parts. Key responsibilities include performing first article inspections using basic measuring tools, ensuring machinery and equipment are operational, cleaning machines and tooling, and participating in process improvement efforts. The role requires adherence to safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as maintaining a clean work environment and completing assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, two to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to document work and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to perform routine calculations and measurements accurately.
  • Ability to safely lift to 30 pounds and perform repetitive manual tasks.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Punch Press and support equipment

  • Deburr and sand parts to size
  • Clean parts
  • Notifies supervisor or lead person of discrepancies
  • Participates in process improvement efforts with Manufacturing Engineering and Supervision
  • Perform 1st article inspections using calipers and other basic measuring tools
  • Ensures machinery and equipment is operational
  • Clean machines and tooling
  • Completes other duties as assigned
