About The Position
Zehnder Rittling, a leader in hydronic and radiant heating solutions since 1946, is seeking a detail-oriented and fast-paced Punch Press Machine Operator for their second shift. This role involves the setup and operation of turret equipment to punch and prepare material for job orders, ensuring they meet customer specifications. The company is located at 100 Rittling Blvd., Buffalo, NY 14220, and is looking for individuals seeking a long-term career. Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of similar work experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work with small hand tools.
- Must be dependable.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Comfortable working 10 hours a day.
Responsibilities
- Reviews job orders to determine customer specifications.
- Sets up turret equipment, including turning on the machine, water power, and hydraulics, and resetting the machine to zero.
- Modifies computer programs to meet job specifications.
- Sets up tooling specifications.
- Performs incoming inspection on sheared material prior to punching, documenting any material that does not meet specifications.
- Obtains clearance from Leadperson or Management before continuing with a job if problems are identified.
- Operates the turret at an appropriate tempo to meet production quantities while maintaining quality standards.
- Performs first piece inspection on newly punched material to ensure equipment is set correctly.
- Delivers finished product to the next operation within the cell.
- Orders tooling parts through communication with CAD as needed.
- Works as part of a team, continuously seeking to identify and eliminate non-value added processes and waste.
- Works in a safe manner, utilizing all required personal protective equipment.
- Assists in all other areas of the cell.
- Maintains flexibility to transfer to other cells to assist when needed.
