3rd Shift Metal Punch Laser
About The Position
The Punch Laser Operator is responsible for operating metal punch/laser machines to produce parts according to the required specifications. This role must be carried out with adherence to Tecomet's values of continuous improvement, customer-driven innovation, and a "win first" culture while ensuring that the company's financial and performance metrics are met. The operator's primary duty is to ensure that the punch/laser machines are utilized efficiently to produce high-quality parts that meet the customer's requirements while minimizing waste and maximizing productivity. This is a 3rd shift position that offers a shift differential.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience loading and running machines
- Knowledge and proficiency in using standard measuring equipment
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints
- Proficiency in basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong team player and ability to transition from one task to another
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to follow written procedures
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read blueprint or schematics
Responsibilities
- Machine parts to specifications using documentation presented on routing/drawings and program hard copy.
- Employ use of inspection methods to ensure the quality of production.
- Ability to perform entry-level problem-solving skills.
- Ability to run one or more machine types.
- Maintains housekeeping and safety standards in work area.
