About The Position

This position is assigned to the Lake Chapman raw water system at the booster station located 12 miles east of McKinney, just outside of Princeton, Texas. Duties include performing specialized and highly skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, repair and servicing of water and wastewater distribution system facilities and equipment; overseeing and maintaining operation of pumps, motors and related electrical equipment and valves throughout the water distribution and wastewater collection systems; troubleshooting electrical and communications problems for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA); and coordinating activities with other departments, divisions, outside agencies and contractors. Duties may require entering confined spaces, climbing above ground and elevated storage tanks, working with low and medium voltage electrical equipment, and typically will require lifting up to 100 pounds frequently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some college or specialized training in a related field
  • Two years experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, including work on electrical motors, control systems, pumps and low voltage electrical circuitry
  • Valid Texas Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL)
  • Currently possess TCEQ-issued Class C Water and Collection II Wastewater licenses
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and pump curves

Responsibilities
