About The Position

Capital Pump & Equipment (CPE) is a leading provider of industrial pump rentals and fluid-handling solutions. We're known for keeping operations moving efficiently and we are looking for talented individuals to join our team! The Role We're seeking a Pump Repair Technician to join our Houston, TX operations. In this role, you'll ensure pumps are in optimal operating condition at our Houston branch and onsite at job sites as needed. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair pump malfunctions and complete complex repairs on returned rentals.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude with at least 2 years' experience with diesel and/or electric pump repairs or similar equipment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions.
  • Ability to manage all repairs, maintenance, and diagnostic tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to perform work safely using proper hand/power tools.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and comprehensively with team members and leadership.
  • Willingness to adhere to company safety standards, including the use of proper personal protective equipment.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Fundamental understanding of pumps, equipment, or diesel engine maintenance and repair

Responsibilities

  • Install and ensure the efficient and safe operations of all pump equipment and new or replacement parts.
  • Inspect and repair pumps to ensure efficient operation and properly functioning equipment.
  • Disassemble broken or defective pump equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble when repairs are complete.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all pump equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of equipment movement, installation progress, service schedules, customer interactions, and other paperwork as required for proper documentation of work performed.
  • Clean and test all repaired equipment to ensure operations and appearance are up to company standards.
