About The Position

UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies (MCR), Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH), and Greeley Hospital (GH) are looking for locum Pulmonary Critical Care support. Candidates must have recent level I trauma experience to be considered for this position. Coverage is needed for 30 shifts per month in total for all locums, with each locum assigned to one location per 12-hour shift. Coverage is capped at 7 consecutive days and will rotate between locations to allow for lighter days between shifts. The role involves inpatient pulmonology and critical care intensivist duties in the ICU.

Requirements

  • Recent level I trauma experience.
  • ACLS certification.
  • BLS certification.
  • Board Certified.
  • DEA certification.
  • NRP certification.
  • Colorado State License.

Nice To Haves

  • Inpatient Pulmonology experience preferred.
  • Critical Care Intensivist experience required for ICU.
  • Insertion of PA catheter preferred.
  • Dialysis catheter placement preferred.
  • Diagnostic/therapeutic taps preferred.
  • Lumbar puncture preferred.
  • Paracentesis preferred.

Responsibilities

  • In-house coverage from 7a-7p, including rounding at Medical Center of the Rockies (MCR).
  • In-house coverage from 7p-7a at MCR.
  • In-house coverage from 7a-7p, including rounding at Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH).
  • Offsite pager call from 7p-7a at PVH.
  • In-house coverage from 7a-7p, including rounding at Greeley Hospital (GH).
  • Offsite pager call from 7p-7a at GH.
  • Ventilation Management.
  • Invasive procedures (ETT/NT/Tracheostomy).
  • Non-invasive procedures (BiPAP/CPAP).
  • Bronchoscopy (Diagnostic, Diagnostic with Bronchial Alveolar lavage).
  • Chest tube insertion.
  • Central line insertion.
  • Arterial line insertion.
  • Thoracentesis.
  • Therapeutic procedures with Foreign body extraction.
  • Manage patients in critical care settings including cardiac arrest/failure, respiratory arrest/failure, sepsis, metabolic disorders, renal failure, OD/poisoning, drowning.
  • Manage pre- and post-operative patients in general, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular/thoracic surgical settings.
  • Insertion of PA catheter (preferred).
  • Dialysis catheter placement (preferred).
  • Diagnostic/therapeutic taps (preferred).
  • Lumbar puncture (preferred).
  • Paracentesis (preferred).
