Board Certified/Board Eligible Pulmonologists
About The Position
Posterity Group LLC, a veteran-owned, service-disabled small business specializing in federal government contracting and staffing, is seeking two (2) Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Board Certified/Eligible Pulmonologists to provide pulmonary physician and critical care services at the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System (VACIHCS). The physicians will work 80 hours per week, covering outpatient clinics from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and providing inpatient consults and follow-ups on call seven days a week. Critical care services include the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries requiring advanced organ support and continuous monitoring.
Requirements
- Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property
- Board certified/ board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care
- Currently certified in BLS, ACLS, or equivalency
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries that require advanced organ support and continuous monitoring.
- Oxygen/Ventilator Management
- Pre-surgical Evaluation
- Bronchoscopy Evaluation
- Follow-up on Specialty Pulmonary Problems
- In-patient Pulmonary Consults
- Outpatient Pulmonary Consults
- E-Consults
- Serve on home oxygen committee
- Pulmonary Functions Interpretation (PFT)
- Sleep Disorder Interpretation (interpretation due back within twenty-four (24) hours)
- Overnight Oximetry Study (interpretation due back next business day from date of completion)
- Rest and Exercise Study (interpretation due back next business day from date of completion)
- Comp and Pen exams
- Home O2 Orders
- Monitor and write orders for Ventilators for Home Use.
- Adhere to VACIHCS service agreements between Primary Care and Pulmonary services.
- Provide professional/technical advice regarding VA Pulmonary services and part of general program oversight.
- Provide on-site direction and support to the pulmonary personnel (VA registered nurses) regarding equipment, technology, policies and procedures.
