About The Position

In this project, the Pulmonary Physician will apply expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine to fine-tune large language models. The role uses knowledge of respiratory diagnostics, ventilator management, and ICU-level decision-making to help ensure AI systems deliver accurate, empathetic, and safe medical reasoning. The work includes designing and solving advanced clinical scenarios, evaluating AI-generated responses, identifying gaps in AI understanding across pulmonology and intensive care, collaborating with AI researchers and medical peers, and providing structured expert feedback for AI development in clinical and educational applications. This is a fully remote contractor/freelancer engagement for 20–40 hours per week, with a minimum of four hours per day and some overlap with Pacific Time.
