This exciting opportunity involves performing Pulmonary Function testing, including Lung Volumes, Spirometries, and Diffusion Capacity. The role also includes performing Methacholine Challenges and daily quality assurance on equipment to ensure test quality and validity.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Commission on Accreditation in Respiratory Care Education (CoARC) approved RT program.
• American Medical Association approved Respiratory Therapy Program Required.
• Current and valid New York State Respiratory Therapist (RTT) License or Respiratory therapy Technician License Required.
• Current registration from National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
• Excellent communication (both oral and written), customer service, and interpersonal skills Required.
• Basic computer skills Required.
• Understands admitting protocols for outpatients Required.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years Pulmonary Function Testing experience Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs Pulmonary Function Testing. Performs FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV as required.
• Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure.
• Performs Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
• Performs Methacholine Challenges.
• Efficiently schedules patients.
• Reviews schedule with Pharmacy to insure optimal utilization of Provocholine.
• Maintains testing equipment.
• Generates appropriate paperwork to permit the interpretation of Pulmonary Function tests.
