Pullet Crew Member
About The Position
This role involves the physical labor of catching and loading live chickens into cages for vaccination. The team member will administer vaccinations according to company policy and ensure compliance with all company policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and biosecurity protocols. A key aspect of the job is maintaining high standards of animal welfare and personal hygiene, and reporting any suspicious activities or policy violations. The daily duties require standing and walking for the entire workday, lifting birds weighing 4.0–7.0 pounds, performing repetitive motions, and working in a mostly outdoor environment, often in dusty and warm conditions within chicken houses.
Requirements
- Ability to catch and pick up live chickens by the wings.
- Ability to load chickens into steel cages.
- Ability to present chickens to the vaccinator.
- Ability to administer vaccinations in appropriate locations.
- Ability to comply with written company policies.
- Ability to maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with company GMP and biosecurity policies.
- Ability to identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or live management official.
- Ability to stand/walk 100% of the workday.
- Ability to lift live birds that weigh between 4.0-7.0 pounds on average.

Responsibilities
- Catch and pick up live chickens by the wings and load them into steel cages.
- Present chickens to the vaccinator for vaccination.
- Administer vaccinations in the correct locations according to Peco’s policy.
- Follow all written company policies, including GMP and biosecurity protocols.
- Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
- Report any suspicious or abnormal situations, such as unauthorized personnel in restricted areas or activities violating the animal welfare policy.
- Stand/walk 100% of the workday.
