About The Position

This role involves catching and loading live chickens into steel cages, administering vaccinations, and maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and biosecurity. The position requires adherence to company policies, including those related to animal welfare and GMP. Employees must identify and report any unusual or suspicious situations to their supervisor. The job is physically demanding, involving standing and walking 100% of the workday, lifting birds weighing 4.0-7.0 pounds, performing repetitive motions, and working in a dusty, warm, and outdoor environment.

Requirements

• Standing / walking 100% of the workday.
• Lifting live birds that weight between 4.0-7.0 pounds on average.
• Dusty/warm work environment inside the chicken houses.
• Performing repetitive motion.
• Being able to work in a mostly outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Catch and pick up live chickens by the wings and load them into steel cages.
• Comply with written company policies.
• Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with company GMP and biosecurity policies.
• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or live management official.
• Catch and pick up live chickens by the wings and present them to the vaccinator to be vaccinated.
• Administer vaccinations in appropriate locations in accordance with Peco policy.
