Requirements

  • College Degree or comparable work experience required.
  • At least 2 years of public relations experience.
  • Ability to travel for client needs.
  • Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Mac/iOS environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of media and news cycles.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Basic understanding of Facebook, X, and Instagram.
  • Foundational understanding of Influencer engagement.
  • Polished and professional demeanor.
  • Must have a valid passport for international travel.
  • Applicants for employment must possess work authorization for the country in which they are applying, which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa.

Nice To Haves

  • Agency experience preferred.
  • Experience in a hospitality environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle media relations, including building media lists, drafting and helping with pitches, and coordinating FAM trips (pitching, planning, staffing, itinerary development, and attendance).
  • Stay updated on industry trends and proactively reach out and submit clients for award submissions.
  • Engage in direct client communications, including responding to emails, participating in client calls, and handling day-to-day requests.
  • Provide approvals on agendas, reports, and updates for junior team members.
  • Oversee the workflow of junior team members.
  • Understand reporting, particularly the Barcelona Principles.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming and pitch development.
  • Provide attention to detail, prioritize, multi-task, and delegate.
  • May serve as a primary client contact on select initiatives.
  • Lead portions of client calls.
  • Nurture and create new relationships with editors, writers, and freelance connections through introductions, targeted pitches, and at least two media meetings per month.
  • Serve as a trusted source of media knowledge for teams.
  • Establish and grow relationships with media and influencers by taking more 1:1 meetings.
  • Organize, invite, and host press trips.
  • Concept creative and targeted pitch projects aligned with account goals.
  • Facilitate media missions in local, regional, and national markets.
  • Monitor and manage editorial calendars, assigning duties to the team as necessary.
  • Act as an account authority, understanding junior team workflow and anticipating needs for senior team members.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to Junior Publicists and Publicity Assistants.
  • Seek opportunities to get involved in relevant organizations.
  • Stay up-to-date on and share industry trends and client-impacting news.
  • Perform other tasks, projects, or duties as required.
