About The Position

The City of Port Townsend is recruiting to fill one vacancy for a Public Works Plans Reviewer/Inspector, who can be hired at the I, II, or III level depending on qualifications. This position performs a variety of tasks supporting the Public Works Department in the review of community development plans, inspection of capital projects and community development, right-of-way management, code enforcement, and other technical support for construction of engineering projects and implementation of standards. Oversight and support of development resulting in quality public infrastructure is the core basis for this position. Full job descriptions for all three levels are available here.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer operating systems
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and ability to maintain a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in construction management, engineering technology, or related field
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Experience with public works projects and/or municipal government experience
