About The Position

Under general supervision, the Public Works Maintenance Worker performs routine maintenance work on City streets and buildings, and performs related duties as required. Supervision is provided by the Deputy Director of Public Works or their designee. Essential job functions may include, but are not limited to, performing general street cleaning; picking up rubbish and debris; emptying refuse containers and loading rubbish and debris on trucks; sweeping and washing cement walks, driveways, and sidewalks; performing routine graffiti abatement on City streets and buildings; using a variety of equipment including paint rollers and pressure washer; and cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment. The position will receive a 5.0% salary increase in July 2027, bringing the top step salary to $73,328.72. The top salary range for this position currently reaches $69,836.89, PLUS, an excellent benefits package!

Requirements

Formal or informal training which ensures the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Basic methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in maintenance work, and safe work practices.
Use hand and light power tools required in maintenance work; perform heavy manual labor; understand and carry out oral and written directions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Possession of and ability to maintain a valid California Class “C” Driver’s License is required.
