About The Position

This position is responsible for operating assigned vehicles and assisting staff in performing various repairs. The starting salary is $46,368 per year, with potential for step progression to maximum pay. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Valid State of Michigan Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Applicants hired without a Michigan CDL A License will be hired as a Public Works Technician and must receive their Michigan CDL A License within 6 months from date of hire to remain employed.
• Satisfactory completion of medical examination, driving record check, and criminal background check prior to start date.
• All appointees are subject to a one-year probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of vehicles to transport equipment and materials.
• Operates equipment, hand tools, and power tools in performing various labor tasks in an assigned area.
• Assists staff in performing sewer, water main, and related repairs.
• Cleans and maintains vehicles, tools, and related equipment.
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.
