About The Position

The City of Huntsville’s Public Transit department is seeking qualified applicants to fill our Public Transit Dispatcher position. This is communications work in receiving and dispatching accurate information to the Public Transit Division of the Department of Parking and Public Transit. Work involves responsibility for the flow of information between customers on the telephone and the drivers on the road in order to facilitate the timely, safe pick up of all scheduled riders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Experience in operating communications equipment and a personal computer
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Receiving and dispatching accurate information to the Public Transit Division.
• Facilitating the timely, safe pick up of all scheduled riders by managing the flow of information between customers and drivers.
