This is specialized technical work associated with a multi-user, automated law enforcement information system in the Sheriff's Office. This includes the Marathon County Jail, Juvenile Center, and 911 Center. Work involves maintenance of computer hardware and software for a complex law enforcement information system and various related integrated systems. While work is performed in accordance with established procedures and policies, considerable independent judgment and action is exercised in applying technical knowledge to maintain day-to-day system operations, perform problem analysis of system failures, provide technical support for users, develop and implement user training, and evaluate and recommend new or replacement equipment and software. No supervision is exercised over other employees. Work is reviewed by adherence to Sheriff’s Office and automated system procedures, observation, and quality of work. Work also involves regular contact with the City-County Information Technology Commission, system vendor technical staff, and other community law enforcement, fire, emergency service, and government agencies.
