This role involves conducting proactive interior and exterior rounds to prevent, deter, and identify potential criminal activity, safety concerns, and public safety hazards. The officer will respond to public safety calls for service, triaging and addressing emergency situations. Responsibilities include performing patient watches and monitoring, rounding, parking lot audits, and post assignments as directed. The role also involves providing coverage at the Switchboard, Communication, and Dispatch Center, acting as a liaison between the hospital and local emergency services, and utilizing CCTV systems. De-escalation of crisis situations through verbal techniques and, when necessary, physical restraints is a key function. The officer will actively contribute to a growing, high-quality, community and customer service-based safety program, maintaining a clean and organized post, equipment, and vehicle. Supporting the hospital's core values and mission by providing exceptional customer-focused service for patients, visitors, and staff is essential. Per Diem Officers must work at least 3 shifts per month, including one weekend shift and one overnight shift or shift coverage as needed. Additionally, Per Diem Officers are required to work one major summer holiday and one major winter holiday.
