The Public Safety Officer is responsible for inspiring confidence in patients, visitors, and team members through a professional demeanor, enforcing safety and security regulations, and maintaining equipment. Key duties include conducting interior and exterior patrols to identify vulnerabilities and hazards, assisting individuals, controlling traffic, and managing visitor conduct. The role involves preventing, responding to, and investigating workplace violence and other incidents, utilizing de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, use of force. Officers are also crucial in emergency response planning and execution for situations like lost persons, fires, and active threats, and are expected to investigate incidents and complete accurate reports. The position requires liaison duties with various departments and external law enforcement, providing security awareness education, and maintaining current training standards in critical areas like radio communications, de-escalation, hemorrhage control, CPR, and conducted energy weapon use. Additionally, the officer assists with exterior traffic and crowd control, including parking enforcement and vehicular assistance.
