Public Safety Officer
About The Position
The Campus Security Officer (CSO) provides safety, security, customer service, and emergency response services throughout Nebraska Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center campuses, 24 Hours a Day/Seven Days a Week. The CSO protects patients, visitors, students, employees, physicians, faculty, volunteers, property, and organizational assets while supporting the institution’s healthcare, educational, research, and business missions. Key duties include conducting security patrols; responding to emergencies, behavioral health incidents, and requests for assistance; controlling facility access; managing visitors; monitoring patient and public safety; supporting weapons detection and parking enforcement programs; and providing security services for special events and other specialized assignments. Officers work in a variety of healthcare, academic, research, and parking environments and are often among the first responders to incidents requiring security intervention.
