About The Position

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a candidate for a Security Officer in our fast-paced Campus Safety and Security Department located on the Downtown Campus. This is a 2nd shift position (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm).

Requirements

• High School/GED
• One year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military)
• Strong written and verbal skills are necessary
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications is preferred

Responsibilities

• Providing on-going visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols
• Completing incident, accident and injury reports as needed
• Providing other security services in order to maintain a safe, secure campus environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors
• Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed
• Monitors parking facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
