About The Position

The Public Safety Officer performs routine safety and emergency security activities to safeguard students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. The officer serves as a first responder to emergency incidents within the assigned facility and safely de-escalates critical events, using sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating subjects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• No prior work experience required.
• Valid in-state driver’s license upon hire and adherence to Piedmont’s Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
• Obtain IAHSS Security Officer certification within one year.
• Pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Pass and maintain all training requirements needed to remain employed, including certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and other training as directed.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety work.
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification.
