This is a full-time, 1st shift position at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center (IMMC) in Chicago's North Side, near the Wrigleyville Neighborhood. The role involves providing security services with professionalism, fairness, and compassion, inspiring confidence in patients, visitors, and team members. The officer will be alert, observant, and ethical, complying with and enforcing all safety and security rules and regulations, and maintaining their uniform and equipment in good repair. Responsibilities include performing routine patrols, identifying vulnerabilities and hazards, auditing Interim Life Safety Measures, managing patient valuables, and conducting contraband searches. The officer will also assist patients, visitors, and team members, ensure traffic control, monitor visitor conduct, confront unauthorized persons, prevent and respond to workplace violence, and serve as a primary resource for de-escalation. A key part of the role is responding to emergencies such as lost or abducted infants/children, fire, and active threats, physically intervening when necessary. The officer will investigate incidents, complete reports, address and escalate complaints, and conduct liaison rounding to build partnerships with departments. Security awareness education will be delivered to team members, and the officer will liaise with local law enforcement and first responder agencies. Additionally, the role involves coordinating and monitoring law enforcement prisoner patient guards and maintaining current training standards in radio communications, verbal de-escalation, stabilization, CPR, clinical restraints, and conducted energy weapons (Taser).
