About The Position

Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. This role serves as the first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility and is responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events, requiring sound judgment in engagement with combative or escalating subjects.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 2 years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience where required to actively carry a firearm in the regular course of duty or equivalence of training and job experience to support effective demonstration of responsible handling of weapons and use of force.
• Valid and in-State Driver License & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year
• Ability to carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton
• Ability to carry company issued firearm
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed

• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification
