About The Position
The Town of Hopkinton is seeking a full-time Public Safety Dispatcher to join their Public Safety Communications Center. This role is crucial in providing life-saving medical instructions and accurate public safety information. The dispatcher will be responsible for receiving and transmitting emergency and administrative messages to law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel, adhering to state-mandated protocols and departmental policies. The position requires discretion, independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to maintain confidential information while operating within established guidelines.
Requirements
- High School Equivalency
- Excellent vision and hearing accuracy
- Ability to process verbal information/direction in a concise manner
- Confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated customer service skills
Nice To Haves
- One (1) to Three (3) years experience in emergency response communications or a related field
- Considerable knowledge of street locations, buildings, and other significant areas of the community in order to minimize response time
- E911, LEAPS, APCO Emergency Medical Dispatch, APCO PST1 certifications
