About The Position

LCRA is looking for a Public Safety Dispatcher to join their team. This role is part of LCRA's Public Safety Dispatch team, which focuses on securing critical infrastructure and enforcing laws on the waterways and lands of the LCRA. The work involves three primary functions: dispatching internal resources (law enforcement and security officers), security monitoring (cameras and alarms), and sending notifications to staff about critical incidents. This role does not handle domestic calls, 911, or EMD, differentiating it from a typical 911 center. Shifts are rotated fairly, with everyone sharing holiday work preferences. The work schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, with three shifts one week and four the next, typically including every other weekend off. Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Basic Telecommunicator license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Public Safety Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Texas Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center (TCIC/NCIC) Full Access Operator certification
  • Two or more years of experience in the operation of currently relevant security systems and public safety dispatch/communications or other relevant experience
  • One or more years LCRA Public Safety experience
  • Current certification in Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED
  • Driver's license
  • Must pass the CJIS fingerprint-based background investigation according to the State of Texas standards
  • Must remain current with all CJIS training requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in law enforcement dispatching.
  • TCOLE telecommunicator license.

Responsibilities
