About The Position

This student position works at the Main Entrance, operates dispatch, and greets visitors. The role receives and logs radio traffic and phone calls, monitors fire and security alarms and cameras, dispatches and logs alarms, provides campus information and directions, and coordinates assignments with field officers. The position is open to Bob Jones University students only.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University.
• Communication and customer service skills, including proficiency in phone etiquette.
• Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining a professional and calm appearance and atmosphere.
• High school graduate or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and web-based applications.
• Speedy and accurate keyboarding skills.
• Must occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Receive, dispatch, and log radio traffic on multiple radio frequencies.
• Receive, dispatch, and log emergency and non-emergency phone calls at the Main Entrance.
• Monitor fire and security alarms and cameras; dispatch and log all alarms received.
• Greet campus visitors, answer questions, and provide directions.
• Follow the established assignment schedule, ensure field officers are informed, and log completed assignments.
• Work assigned shifts, which may include day, evening, night, weekend, or holiday hours.
• May obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
