About The Position

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing technical and operational functions of a public safety communications center during assigned shifts. This position ensures effective staffing, adherence to regulations, and smooth emergency communications operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Public Safety Communications Officer
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience required
  • Thorough understanding of public safety communications laws and procedures
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and direct staff
  • Proficiency in CAD and digital communications systems
  • Ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional in emergencies
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in emergency call taking and dispatch preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate shift-level PSAP/ECC operations
  • Analyze daily activity reports and adjust staffing as needed
  • Ensure operational readiness and policy compliance
  • Schedule and support quality assurance and performance monitoring activities
  • Operate CAD, radio, and communications systems as required
  • Provide leadership during emergency and critical events
  • Assist with troubleshooting system or workflow issues
