About The Position

The City of Irvine seeks a Public Safety Assistant - Extended Part-time to support the Property and Evidence Unit of the Irvine Police Department. This role involves ordering, issuing, maintaining, and documenting supplies and equipment, assisting with the purchasing process, approving invoices, and supporting Technical Services (Public Safety Fleet) in various tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of customer service and professionalism, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, maintain a superb level of organization and attention to detail, and be able to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently. Experience working with public safety is preferred, and embodying the mission and values of the Irvine Police Department is essential.

Requirements

Associate's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or related field.
At least one year experience in law enforcement activities, community service, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
Valid California driver's license.
Demonstrate a high level of customer service and professionalism to internal and external individuals.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Maintain a superb level of organization and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently.
Embody the mission and values of the Irvine Police Department.
