About The Position

KCSA Strategic Communications is seeking a Public Relations Vice President with expertise in Financial Services to join their team in the NYC/Tri State Area. KCSA is an integrated communications agency specializing in Media and Technology, Cannabis and Psychedelics, Financial Services, Healthcare, and Women’s Health and Wellness. They leverage PR, IR, and Digital/Social Media strategies, along with strong media and financial relationships, to craft compelling client narratives. The financial services PR team focuses on elevating companies and their leaders as experts in their field, with an emphasis on earned media, particularly broadcast opportunities. The ideal candidate is deeply engaged with the daily financial news cycle, skilled in building relationships with clients, colleagues, and media, and experienced in leading teams.

Requirements

  • Prior PR agency experience.
  • 6-9 years of direct experience in financial services PR.
  • Experience managing account teams of 2-4 employees.
  • Business relationships with key journalists and conference organizers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using media databases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive client plans and strategies, demonstrating a clear knowledge of their vision and translating that into communications objectives.
  • Pitch clients and executives to journalists, reporters, and producers.
  • Provide strategic counseling to clients, creating bespoke strategies for ongoing account growth and ensuring tactical activities align with agreed-upon strategies.
  • Serve as the point of contact for 6-9 client accounts.
  • Lead a team of AAE, AE, SAE, and AD level employees, providing guidance and direct feedback on performance and deliverables.
  • Foster growth and develop talent within the team.
  • Maintain key relations with target media contacts.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients, acting as a strategic member of their team.
  • Maintain regular face-to-face, call, and email communication with clients.
  • Write and/or edit all final drafts of documentation and media for clients.
  • Participate in new business initiatives, including drafting proposals/decks and pitching potential clients.
