About The Position

This position is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with the public by utilizing strategic plans provided by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Communications or a related field
  • One year of experience working in public or media relations
  • Knowledge of Web 2.0 concepts, techniques and trends
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • In lieu of a degree four years of experience in public relations may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with the public by utilizing strategic plans provided by management
  • Support the Public Relations Managers with the writing, researching and preparation of materials
  • Maintains contacts and responds to inquiries
  • Conduct media relations and respond to media requests for information
  • Write press releases and other materials while utilizing SEO practices
  • Use various social media platforms for media and blogger outreach
  • Monitor company’s mentions throughout all areas of communication
  • Organize and conduct media tours and photo/video escorts
  • Prepare media history and necessary information for briefings
  • Issue materials to internal organizations and media via the online newsroom
  • Analyze various channels for communication
  • Support the coordination and execution of special events
