About The Position

WEKA is seeking a Public Relations Manager to run and accelerate the media engine behind one of the most consequential stories in enterprise tech. This is a fully external-facing role, focused entirely on public relations and earned media. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, you'll pitch and place stories, execute launches, direct agency operations day to day, and keep WEKA in the conversations that matter. The mission is bigger than just announcement and launch coverage. It's trend authority and thought leadership. You’ll ensure WEKA experts are quoted in the stories that define the inference economy, forging trusted-source relationships the industry turns to when news breaks, and sharpening points of view that shape how the market thinks about data infrastructure today and why AI demands a new approach built for this era. You'll build trust and authority story by story, source by source, until WEKA is the call journalists and industry commentators make first.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in PR or corporate communications, in-house or agency (8+ for Senior Manager consideration) with B2B tech experience, preferably in enterprise software or data infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to forge trusted media and influencer relationships, develop earned pitches that land, and secure top-tier story placements, with a body of earned coverage to show for it.
  • Demonstrated experience running end-to-end launches and embargoed news announcements, and coordinating multiple stakeholders and spokespeople.
  • AI fluency and experience using AI tools and workflows to enhance and accelerate your communications practice, from research and first drafts to monitoring and measurement.
  • Equally, you understand the art of iteration, possess strong writing and storytelling skills, and the editorial judgment and standards to know what ships and what doesn't.
  • Experience working with newswire and PR analytics platforms to distribute news and measure and report on the efficacy and results of your work.

Nice To Haves

  • AI and/or data infrastructure industry experience, and an understanding of what GPUs and tokens are, and why memory is the new production bottleneck.
  • A mix of agency and in-house experience.
  • Cision One and PR Newswire experience.
  • Experience working with global growth-stage companies in competitive, fast-moving technology categories.

Responsibilities

  • Pitch and place stories with tier-one tech, business, and AI trade media and influencers. Build relationships that survive and thrive beyond product launches and company announcements.
  • Run AI-assisted monitoring of the news cycle and competitive landscape, develop sharp points of view on breaking trends, and place expert commentary while the story is still moving. Make WEKA spokespeople the sources reporters call before deadline, and know when silence is the smarter play.
  • Build the pipeline that establishes WEKA experts as recognized voices in AI infrastructure: bylines, contributed articles, podcasts, speaking opportunities, and industry awards and rankings that compound third-party credibility.
  • Run PR execution for product launches and company milestones: press releases, embargoes, briefing preparation and sequencing, and coordination across spokespeople, external stakeholders, agencies, and channels.
  • Drive a communications program mix in which earned media leads, and a balanced complement of owned and paid channels reinforces it.
  • Manage our external agency's day-to-day work: set priorities, develop quality pitches, drive results. They should amplify your judgment, not replace it.
  • Own the PR scorecard: share of voice, media mentions, top publication penetration, message pull-through, sentiment, and how WEKA shows up in AI-generated answers.
