About The Position

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has an opening for a full-time, exempt Public Relations Coordinator in the Public Relations Department. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, educational organization that documents and interprets the history of country music. It collects artifacts, provides educational programs, publications, and exhibitions. The Museum has a downtown location with extensive exhibition galleries, archival storage, retail stores, and event space. It also owns Hatch Show Print, operates Historic RCA Studio B, and features the Taylor Swift Education Center and performance spaces. The Museum was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2024 for its work in preserving history, honoring artists, and inspiring future generations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, English or related field
  • Two years of PR experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package, including Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to plan ahead while juggling multiple, fluid short- and long-term priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing select public relations activities for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Historic RCA Studio B, Hatch Show Print, Haley Galley, and the CMA Theater.
  • Providing administrative support to the department, including tracking media coverage metrics and highlights, maintaining content calendars and press databases.
  • Creating and delivering public relations content and materials.
  • Coordinating and facilitating media coverage at Museum events, including exhibit openings, donation ceremonies, benefit concerts, and press tours.
  • Overseeing online department media assets.
  • Facilitating press tours with external partners.
  • Fielding film requests and coordinating onsite shoots, including production/technical needs, space reservations, and parking.
  • Working with teams to service upcoming events weekly to listing editors.
  • Submitting listings to event websites.
  • Facilitating database updates, maintenance, and research for targeted communications lists.
  • Maintaining the department calendar.
  • Creating weekly department reports highlighting press hits.
  • Clipping broadcast clips for reporting and archives.
  • Tracking and developing media relations metrics and reporting.
