About The Position

Turing is seeking candidates with strong experience in recreation management, public programs, or municipal parks and recreation services. In this role, you will contribute to projects that evaluate and enhance AI systems using your expertise in public recreation and community engagement. No prior AI experience is required. The projects explore how AI can improve community programming, public engagement, and operational efficiency in government recreation services. This is a remote contractor/freelancer assignment. Projects last approximately one month, with the possibility of extension. The role may potentially be full-time, and compensation varies by project. Candidates must not provide confidential or proprietary information from any employer or university, trade secrets or internal data, specific client information or case details, or information that would violate confidentiality obligations.

Requirements

At least 4 years of experience as a recreation worker or supervisor in government, municipal parks, or public recreation programs.
Comfort using web-based tools for data review and annotation.
Strong English communication and reasoning skills.
Ability to clearly and effectively describe program operations and community engagement processes.

Nice To Haves

Background in Recreation Management, Public Administration, Parks & Leisure, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Design and solve real-world recreation and community service scenarios to test AI reasoning.
Write clear, structured explanations covering program design, facility operations, budgeting, and event coordination.
Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, inclusivity, and alignment with public service standards.
Collaborate with researchers to refine AI understanding of municipal recreation workflows and community engagement practices.
