About The Position

Global Gate is seeking a Public Markets Analyst to join their team and support the delivery of investment solutions and portfolio advisory services. This role involves investment research, financial analysis, portfolio management support, and exposure to various asset classes. The successful candidate will collaborate with Portfolio Advisors and senior team members to identify investment opportunities, assess financial data, and contribute to investment strategies. The position offers broad exposure to equities, fixed income, cash equivalents, commodities, and alternative investments, fostering a strong understanding of portfolio construction, investment analysis, and wealth management. It's an opportunity to build a foundation in wealth management while working with experienced professionals and contributing to portfolio management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, preferably with a focus in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Engineering bachelor’s degree holders are highly recommended to apply.
  • Relevant internship experience, preferably in portfolio management, Wealth Management, Asset Management, Investment Banking, or a related field.
  • Exposure to multiple asset classes, particularly equities, bonds, commodities, and alternative investments, is preferred.
  • Strong foundation in accounting, financial analysis, and the interpretation of financial information.
  • Good understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and different asset classes.
  • Ability to build and maintain financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and project performance.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and communicate financial and market information to support investment decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present investment findings clearly and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills when conducting research, analyzing investments, and preparing materials.
  • Ability to work effectively with Portfolio Advisors, Investment Managers, Relationship Managers, and other internal teams.
  • Commitment to understanding needs and supporting the delivery of appropriate investment solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on companies, industries, and financial markets to identify potential investment opportunities across different asset classes.
  • Gather and analyze financial and market data to support sound investment decisions and recommendations.
  • Support senior team members in developing financial models to assess investment performance and evaluate potential investment opportunities.
  • Maintain an ongoing understanding of financial markets by monitoring financial news, reports, research, and relevant market developments.
  • Communicate research findings and investment insights clearly to Wealth Management Associates and senior team members.
  • Support Portfolio Advisors in developing investment strategies aligned with financial objectives.
  • Assist in assessing risk tolerance, current portfolio positioning, and overall risk profile to support appropriate asset allocation recommendations.
  • Contribute to the allocation of equities, fixed income, and cash-equivalent portions of portfolios using approved investment strategies.
  • Support investment research teams and senior team members in implementing suitable investment opportunities.
  • Monitor portfolio investments and performance and support adjustments where appropriate to maintain alignment with financial objectives.
  • Support Portfolio Advisors in managing relationships and understanding financial needs, objectives, and investment preferences.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations, investment materials, reports, and other documentation.
  • Contribute to providing customized investment advice and solutions within the public markets.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Advisors and other members of the Wealth Management team to ensure effective and timely delivery of requirements.
  • Execute quantitative evaluations of sectorial and geographic exposures to monitor risk limits and investment mandates.
  • Calculate Contribution to Return (CTR) and performance attribution to identify primary portfolio return drivers.
  • Monitor key risk metrics, including VaR, Expected Shortfall, tracking error, active risk, and concentration factors.
  • Perform stress tests and scenario analyses to evaluate portfolio resilience against sector and macroeconomic shocks.
  • Develop and maintain Python/R scripts to automate daily portfolio risk, attribution, and reporting workflows.
  • Build automated dashboards (e.g., Claude, Power BI) to visualize real-time sector tilts, geographic risk, and CTR.
  • Automate rebalancing and risk-check processes to reduce manual tasks and enforce trade compliance guidelines.
  • Connect internal risk models with market data APIs (Bloomberg) for seamless data ingestion.
  • Support the appropriate due diligence processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and the suitability of investments.
  • Identify, flag, and report potential risk, suitability, or compliance issues to senior team members.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements affecting wealth management and investment activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes within the public markets function and communicate improvement needs to senior management or the relevant internal teams.
