About The Position

This position is part of the Storm Water Services Communications Team and is primarily responsible for successful implementation of external and internal communications that support Storm Water Services’ mission and strategic priorities. The salary for this position is $60,612.00 - $75,765.00 commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated content creation for digital media platforms, including photography and videography.
  • On-camera and public speaking skills.
  • Skills in MS Office, Sprout Social, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Willing to work during evenings/weekends as needed.
  • Successful candidate must have a valid driver's license and ability to receive and maintain a City Driving Permit.
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent and five (5) years of directly related work experience OR Bachelor’s degree and (1) year of directly related work experience OR Master's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations/public affairs or related field.
  • Media relations and digital communications experience preferred.
  • Background in stormwater, water resources, natural resources, environmental science and/or government, non-profit experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute diverse public information and outreach initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Craft clear, compelling written content for various audiences, including emails, newsletter articles, guidance documents, creative copywriting and social media posts.
  • Assist with community engagement efforts, including set up, execution and breakdown of events.
  • Contribute to inclusive communication efforts, including multilingual and accessible communications.
  • Assist with social media operations, including planning, posting, monitoring, and responding, in collaboration with the Communications Team.
  • Create on-brand content including copy, graphics and short-form videos using creative storytelling techniques.
  • Provide social media support for events and initiatives, ensuring timely and strategic engagement.
  • Analyze and report performance metrics to guide strategy and enhance content effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
