About The Position

Under general direction or working independently, administer and coordinate activities of an assigned public health and/or human services program area. This role involves planning goals and objectives for assigned programs, developing policies and procedures, and evaluating programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local, and departmental regulations. The coordinator will also develop and conduct orientation and training sessions for program staff, assist in budget preparation, and promote assigned programs through relevant media. Additionally, the position will investigate client or community complaints, handle personnel issues, and perform other tasks as required. This position may provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training, and guidance to others.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the area of specialization.
  • Knowledge of current principles and practices of planning and program implementation.
  • Knowledge of organization and administration of public health and/or human service programs.
  • Knowledge of program monitoring and policy analysis.
  • Skill in communicating effectively orally and in writing.
  • Skill in establishing effective and constructive working relationships.
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) years of experience in a field related to public health/human services programming, public health/human services planning, or public health/human services program management.
  • Related experience may substitute for education up to a maximum substitution of four (4) years.
  • Graduation with a Master's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for one (1) year of the required work experience.
