About The Position

The research team of Dr. Aaron Siegler in the Epidemiology Department at Emory University is seeking to hire multiple positions, including a Public Health Program Associate to work on several NIH-funded studies in HIV prevention epidemiology and digital health intervention research across local and/or international settings. These studies include: Establishing a PrEP Epidemiology, Modeling and Surveillance System (PREMISE), Improving telePrEP initiation and retention outcomes in the US: The MISTR+ study, and The Elección (Choice) Cohort.

Requirements

A master's degree in Public Health, a master of science degree in Public Health or Health Education, OR a master's degree in Development Practice OR a master's degree in another field and one year of public health experience.

Nice To Haves

MPH in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or other relevant field; or a Master’s degree in another field and at least 1-4 years of public health experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a good working relationship with both internal team members and external collaborators.
Experience in project management and coordination of public health research studies and/or clinical trials.
Proficiency in data management and analysis using SAS, R, or other statistical software.

Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, uses a basic knowledge of public health principles to analyze, develop, implement, and promote new and creative strategies and solutions to address public health issues and challenges.
Addresses public health issues by providing education, technical assistance, advocacy, public awareness, and research.
Works with programs or studies designed to evaluate the prevalence or surveillance of public health issues and the effectiveness of targeted interventions.
May provide technical assistance to organizations to include presentations, web-based resources, strategies, and educational forums to address specific public health issues.
May work with clinical study sites on patient recruitment and data collection standards.
Assists with data collection and data analysis.
Contributes to proposals, protocols, data analysis plans, reports, manuscripts, and presentation of study findings.
May assist in designing, developing, and conducting targeted training initiatives.
May collaborate with external organizations to develop action plans and goals to achieve specific objectives.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
Under limited supervision, support the coordination and implementation of Research Protocols, including tracking timelines, deliverables, and project milestones.
Assist with day-to-day project management activities to ensure successful execution of project objectives.
Coordinate meetings and follow-up activities with internal and external project collaborators.
Conduct frequent written and verbal communication with internal and external project collaborators.
Assist with data collection, management, and analysis.
Assist with documentation of project activities including protocols, IRB submissions/reviews, and other project-related reports.
Contribute to proposals, protocols, data analysis plans, reports, manuscripts, and presentation of study findings.
Perform other related responsibilities and/or project-related tasks as required.
