Under general supervision, plans, coordinates, and provides professional public health nursing services to individuals, families, and groups in the home, community, and health centers. Provides nursing care, health assessments, health guidance, health education, and referral services to individuals, families, groups, and institutions. Administers prescribed medical treatments and emergency care to patients. Assists physicians and others in health clinics. Provides Family Planning Services and child immunizations based on current federal, state and local regulations. Performs various health screenings. Provides health screening education and counseling in the areas of disease prevention, health maintenance, and mental health. Participates in the instruction, orientation, and oversight of new public health nurses, nursing assistants, volunteers, and others. Prepares and maintains nursing records and reports. Administers seasonal and routine vaccines to people of all ages (Infants - Older Adults); adheres to CDC guidelines. Maintains accurate immunization records in compliance with state regulations and HIPPA. Educates patients on vaccine benefits, side effects, and aftercare. Performs other related duties as required.
