Manages a district nursing program or, in larger districts, manages part of the comprehensive nursing program typically through formal supervision of Nurse Supervisors. Characteristic responsibilities include: developing and monitoring the budget, recruiting staff, procuring and administering grants, community needs assessment, resource allocation, quality assurance of service delivery, and serving as district management team member. Occasionally performs direct nursing service by providing professional nursing care to patients in clinics, homes and schools, performs nursing assessments lab tests, takes measurements, and develops and implements care plans, including the administration of medication and case management. Requires licensure as a RN by state code. This position may be eligible for hiring incentives.
